Exploring the unlimited food category
At this stage of the program, I think it’s safe to talk about foods you can each as much as you like. We are on our way to controlling our urges and are actively addressing binge eating. Now is a good time to discuss those foods you could eat as much as you like if you really needed to.
This uses a classic psychological trick called redirection. Rather than express our urges in a destructive way like binging on junk. We redirect those urges towards something less harmful. In this case, fresh vegetables.
We have spoken about your body’s need for nutrition. I have already suggested half a pound of juiced leafy green vegetables as part of your daily intake. Now let’s explore that a little more.
The unlimited food category
We have to be careful introducing an unlimited food category because your inner craving may take that as a green light to try to go back to its old ways. We don’t want that. We do want you to be able to eat as much nutritious food as you want though. As you’re this far into the course, I think it’s safe to let you have as much healthy food as you like.
This is my list, some people think my food plan is a little radical. I am a raw vegan. The beauty of The Never Binge Again program is that we will work with “your” food plan.
- Cabbage
- Broccoli
- Cauliflower
- Tomatoes
- Cucumbers
- Lettuce
- Spinach
- Kale
- Green tea
- Bell peppers
Those are ten foods you could safely eat as much as you like without compromising your health, weight or journey on this program. As long as your physician has no problem with it, you can safely eat as much of this stuff as possible.
You can juice them, steam then, eat them raw or do what you like. Make sure to keep them as close to their natural state as possible for maximum nutritional value and you’re good to go.
On a day to day basis, I don’t recommend eating several pounds from this list. I suggest having a healthy meal made up of some of these each day, a juice or something sensible. Most of these are low calorie ingredients that won’t affect your weight loss. Some foods like cauliflower do have quite a bit of fat calories so they have to be eaten in moderation.
Other than that, if you feel an uncontrollable urge to binge eat and you cannot stop it, redirect it. Redirect that urge to the list above and you won’t be doing yourself any harm at all!
